The Scroll Compressor is made up only 2 primary components
Both the scrolls are separated by a small gap enough for a thin film of oil. The oil film acts as a seal to prevent air from escaping between the low pressure and high pressure chambers. The orbiting scroll traps air in each of the chambers during rotation and then compressing it till the discharge port. This creates a continuous flow of air. A gap is created at the inlet where the air enters into the chambe
As the scroll rotates the air is trapped in-between the chambers of the scroll. The air is pushed towards the high pressure side of the scroll
The discharge happens at the centre where the chamber volume is reduced significantly causing the air to be compressed at a higher pressure before discharge.
